PEDIGREE (2019-2020) is a one year ‘research into use’ project funded by BBSRC International Flexible Interchange Programme (I-FLIP). It builds on findings of the earlier IMAQulate project (2015-2019) which developed an indicator-based prophylactic health product (PHP) inventory, risk & efficacy prediction tool based on label-information and secondary indicators.

The Rise of Aquaculture By-products

Following on from work with The Marine Ingredients Organisation (IFFO) investigating potential to increase global fishmeal and fish oil supplies from by-products, Julien Stevens, built on the work of Dr. Richard Newton, first in an MSc project and then with a follow up project to investigate how by-products from Scottish farmed salmon are utilised, and how value and efficiency could be added.

John Bostock attended the first meeting of the EU Erasmus+ BlueEdu project in Brussels. This aims to identify skills gaps within the European aquaculture workforce, evaluate education and training demand and supply, and establish industry and education and training providers’ receptiveness to innovative delivery methods.
