Simao Zacarias Interviewed by Adriana da Silva on unablated shrimp broodstock

For all Spanish speakers: Simao Zacarias, Postdoctoral Researcher with the Improving Farmed Fish Welfare in Asia project, was recently interviewed about his work on unablated shrimp broodstock and offspring by Adriana da Silva for her YouTube Channel “Tendencia Acuícola”. (Aquaculture Trend). Adriana is a professor at the Autonomous University of Yucatan, CEO at Acuícola Garza, and blogger and podcaster on sustainable aquaculture. Simao conduced much of the research for his PhD working with the Seajoy Group in Central America, where the focus was on shrimp maturation without the need for eyestalk ablation and trials on the quality and survival of L. vannamei offspring from ablated and non-ablated females. Disease challenge trials to support assessment of offspring quality and survival work were conducted in Thailand together with Syaqua Siam and Benchmark Group.
