Dimitar Taskov, a PhD student representing the Institute of Aquaculture at Stirling University, gave a talk titled “Overview and financial performance analysis of the Bulgarian aquaculture sector” at the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Central-Eastern Europe’s (NACEE) Conference in Gorki, Belarus on 29th Nov 2017. His presentation discussed the broad differences between aquaculture in Western and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and uncovered various profitability aspects of the different types of aquaculture in Bulgaria. NACEE’s objective is to link research institutions with aquaculture interest in CEE and foster collaboration with a broader European research environment. The conference, which primarily involves young researchers, takes place annually, and is carried out in two languages Russian and English. Dimitar was the first representative of Stirling University attending the event.
