MeFanig kicks off in Khulna Bangladesh
A new project, Metric for Aquaculture Nutrition Impact for Girls (MeFANIG), has just held its kick-off meeting in Khulna Bnagldesh. The project aims to develop a metric to provide better community advice for households to improve the nutrition of adolescent females and in doing so contribute to the '1000 day platform' that aims to reducce intergenerational poverty. The project will use detailed primary data collected in communities located across a trasect of salinty int eh Gretare Khulna Region.to develop this metric of how access to seafood of different types , supporting the 1000 platform. The consortium comprises the Icddr,b and the Noakhlali Science and Technology University in Bangladesh and the Universities of Glasgow, Copenhagen and Aberdeen and Stirling in Europe.
