Standards Oversight Committee of GAA BAP meets

Dave Little joined the Standards Oversight Committee of the Global Aquaculture Alliance, Better Aquaculture Practice (BAP) standardsthat met 24-25th October at the Four Seasons Hotel, Vancouver prior to the annual GOAL conference. The Committee which has representatives from industry, the NGO community and academia meets twice a year. At this meeting key items discussed included new standards for Molluscs and for Zonal Management and the use of antibiotics deemed critical in human medicines in aquaculture.

Certification by GAA-BAP continues to grow rapidly, with more than 1.5 Million tonnes already certified (up to September)  from over 900 facilities for 2015.
